River Park Inn - This Green Cove Springs Bed and
Breakfast Inn is centrally located in Northeast Florida near St.
Augustine, minutes from
World Golf Village, and convenient to Orange Park, Jacksonville FL and
the Atlantic Ocean. On the west bank of the St. Johns River waterfront,
with its boat slips, fishing pier and scenic picnic areas, the inn offers
a less complicated, more genuine experience allowing you to enjoy the
slower pace of Green Cove Springs and small-town America.
Relax
comfortably in the porch swing, rock in the double rocker, or perch on the
second story verandah and enjoy the gentle river breeze. Observe
festivities at Spring Park, take the historic walking tour and visit local
eateries, antique shops or one of the outlet malls.
As a contributing site on the National Register of Historic Places, the
Inn's restored 1880’s accommodations are tastefully decorated throughout
with antiques. Unlike hotel and motel rooms, each room in this lodging
establishment is home-like with a unique character or memorable theme. You
will truly feel you came as a guest and left as a friend at this charming
home where
“memories are made”...a perfect
"get away"
isolated in a storybook place from a time when grand hotels and paddle
wheelers flourished.
Formerly Cottage A for the more "retiring
guests" of the famous Clarendon Hotel, our restored 1880's
lodging and accommodations continue in that fine tradition offering
five clean, comfortable guest rooms all furnished in that bygone era but
each with its own private bathroom and modern amenities. Reminisce amidst
the vintage decor, high ceilings and heart of pine flooring. Meanwhile,
enjoy cable TV, private in-room phones, wireless internet access, ceiling
fans, central heat and air, delicious hot breakfasts and refreshing
afternoons in the Jacuzzi Spa. Better yet, reserve the spacious Master
Suite with its own sitting room and two person whirlpool. On cold days
relax in the warmth from the gas log fire in the parlor or when it's a
little warmer, catch a river breeze on the casual second story verandah
overlooking the river front park.
Across the street, in Spring Park, the historic medicinal spring still
flows at a reported 3,000 gallons/minute supplying the chemical free
community pool which feeds a gentle stream as it winds through the
riverfront park before emptying into the broad and breathtaking St. Johns
River.
Within easy walking distance to the business district for dining, movies
and antique shopping, guests may alternately take a self guided historic
walking tour or stroll the banks of the mighty St. Johns River where
visitors enjoy picnics in the park and fish from the new fishing pier
equipped with modern boat slips.
"A welcome retreat, (say
Marie and Mike from Boyton Beach,) from the chaos… and proof there is
still some sanity left."
Bob and Carolyn write –
"We’ve been coming here for 5 years. Thanks for your warmth, great
breakfasts and hospitality. River Park Inn is our favorite 'away from
home spot'."
Gail from Fernandina Beach
reminisced…"Staying here brought back many memories of my childhood
home - such wonderful memories…"
Frequently the Inn has
interesting and very affordable specials. Recently Bill and Suzy from
Davenport came up for the cooking class at a local eatery.
"The chef was great. It was so much fun; no pressure; no question too
stupid. And we’ve been to a lot of cooking classes" says Suzy!
So if you are weary of contrived
experiences and looking for something more genuine, slow down and include
the River Park Inn Bed and Breakfast in your personal "get away" or
special event plans.
River Park Inn, where wonderful memories are made… or even recalled!
