Memorial Day Weekend
We love our Veterans in Clay County and there are many exciting events planned for this 2017 Memorial Day Weekend which will conclude with a fireworks display from a barge in the St. Johns River at 8:45 pm on Monday night May 29th..
26 – Memorial Tribute Ceremony – 11:30 am - Fleming Island Business Park – The event will honor our community’s police and military members who gave the ultimate sacrifice while protecting us. Guest Speaker: Marc Ballgae of Aviation Recruiting, Retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant.
27 – Memorial Day Parade and Family Celebration – 10:30 am – 2:00 pm - Fleming Island Plantation Village Square – This is a special event that the Plantation produces annually to honor our fallen heroes as well as those currently serving our country. The Village Square will be filled with vendors, food trucks, live music and fun for the kids.
27 – Food Truck Takeover – 11:00 am – 4:00 pm - Orange Park Town Hall - Hey Orange Park, we're back! Join us for our Food Trucks Takeover! We are bringing you the area's premiere food trucks that can't wait to serve you!
27 – Memorial Day Ceremony - 10:00 am - Jacksonville National Cemetery at the Flag Pole, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218
27 – 28 – Clay County Watermelon Festival – Clay County Fairgrounds – 10am – 5pm, Admission: $7 adults, $6 kids, Kids 2 and under are free. Family Fun & Festivities Inside & Out
28 - Concert on the Green, St. Johns Country Day School – Bring your lawn chair or blanket so you can soak in the beauty of an outdoor concert by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra followed by fireworks.
29 – Memorial Day Riverfest, Green Cove Springs – 10 am – 9:00 pm - Everyone is invited to the Annual Memorial Day RiverFest in Spring Park to enjoy the wide range of events including the Opening Ceremonies honoring local veterans. You’ll also delight in the food, arts and crafts booths and live entertainment. The day concludes with an amazing fireworks display at 8:45 pm.
29 – Camp Blanding Memorial Day Ceremony – 10:00 am – Camp Blanding Museum, 5629 SR 16 West – Hosted by colonel Matt Johnson, Camp Blanding Joint Training Center Commander, Keynote Speaker: State Representative Bobby Payne, District 19, Special Guest Speaker, Major General Ronald O. Harrison, U.S. Army Retired and former Adjutant General of FL.
