A project to create a mural on the 40 foot block wall of Exit Realty at the corner of Walnut Street and US Highway 17 in Green Cove Springs has come to LIFE!
Recently approved by City Council, the Cove Mural Project organized by Sophie Dentiste has now been brought to life with help from members of the Orange Park Art Guild and funding from contributors at https://www.gofundme.com/6fwtr-cove-in-bloom-mural-project
As a muralist and artist in NE Florida, Sophie enjoyed many years of creating murals in homes across Ponte Vedra and the First Coast. In 2016 she created a 20 ft. fundraiser wall MURAL for a local charity, raising over $10k for that cause.
Now she has chosen to highlight the beautiful Flora and Fauna that is indigenous to our area, calling it “COVE IN BLOOM”, on a 40 FT WALL in downtown Green Cove Springs, Florida!
The Design was created by Sophie Dentiste who painted the the line art with help from renowned artist, Beth Haizlip and other members of the Art Guild of Orange Park who painted the project.
YOUR tax-deductible donations will help fund the immediate cost of the project like paint and sealants. Proceeds beyond that will support two worthy causes –
– Mercy Support Services, a leading resource of HOPE for displaced families and those in need in Clay County, FL.
– Art Guild of Orange Park, encouraging the beautifying ARTS in all of North Florida
Any donation will help, $25, $50 or up.
Gifts of $250 or more will receive a signed poster print of the design, once completed.
Gifts of $500 or more will receive a calendar of select images from the design.
Gifts of $1000 or more will receive a small customized painting of one of the images from the wall, of their choice.
ALL donations will go into a drawing for the original painting that started the whole Collage of Flora and Fauna.
It is a 2- piece diptych, each 12×24 that would look lovely framed and hanging in a corporate or residential setting.
Green Cove Springs is an Old Florida river front town split by US Highway 17 that runs north to south through its center so you can’t miss this Mural Project even if you are just passing through. It is on the West side of Highway 17 at the corner of Walnut Street and US 17 where the old downtown begins. If you take Walnut Street or any of the side streets in that area you can find free parking in small pubic parking lots. So get off that beaten path! Grab some lunch at Sweet Sensations, enjoy the art and browse the local shops like Eclectic Mix and Something Special; both are located on Walnut Street. And don’t forget your photo op or selfie at the “COVE IN BLOOM” mural.
If you have a little more time grab a self guided historic walking tour brochure from the porch at River Park Inn B & B. Consider the inn for your next get-away to Green Cove Springs.
