What's Happening This Week In Green Cove Springs
By: Patricia Sickles
This is the second week in August and teachers are headed back to school but the pool is still opened and anticipated to be very busy. In fact the pool will be opened for an extended season into the fall this year and, well, it IS Florida so it will still be plenty hot. In fact it was in the cooler winter months when people used to come here for the sole purpose of getting in the pool. They believed it had curative power and the water was especially helpful for skin problems due to its sulfur content. Sometimes you may get a whif of the sulfur smell but it is something you get used to like the train whistle at night. Pretty soon you don't even hear it anymore. So come on over to Green Cove Springs and partake of the sparkling clean, chemical free spring water and know you have taken the "cure" from yesteryear! It is a public pool with admission for Adults at $4 Kids at $2 and Seniors and Active Military at $3.
